The Town
Welcome to the Town of Gnawnia! You'll find later on in mousehunt that you will often travel back here to purchase cheese.
Requirements/Recommendations:
- High-Tension Spring or Tacky Glue Trap
- Wooden Base with Target
- Ranked Recruit
If you check out the trapsmith, you will immediately notice the many powerful traps and bases that seem to be out of your gold range. For now, take a look at these two traps:
Once you have 2,100 points, you are able to purchase these traps. Just looking at them, the Mouse Mary O'Nette is arguably the better trap because of the 5 luck, higher attraction bonus and fresher cheese effect. However, I'd advise you to purchase the 500 Pound Spiked Crusher because the Mouse Mary O'Nette is nearly twice as expensive. The Crusher only requires 3,450 gold while the O'Nette requires 6,250 gold. Many mousehunters skip the Mary O'Nette altogether.
With your new trap equip your Cheddar or Marble cheese and continue to hunt.
If you check out the Cheese Shoppe, you will notice that the cheese you could previously purchase in the Meadow is still there but with the addition of a new kind of cheese called Brie. This cheese has a high attraction rate (80%) but is quite expensive. DO NOT buy this cheese or even Swiss. Stick with Cheddar or Marble.
Now for some raw statistics:
If you did get the Mouse Mary O'Nette, here are some more raw statistics:
You may notice that you are not attracting a bunch of mice such as the Flying, Silvertail, Black Widow, etc. This is because they are mainly attracted by SUPER|Brie+. If you feel like donating to Mousehunt at this stage or are a completest, SUPER|Brie+ really helps in attracting these mice. Most people at this stage just dismiss this and continue on. It's not like they drop anything rare.
You also may have noticed by now that once a day, you receive something called a loyalty chest. These chests contain gold, cheese and sometimes King's Credits. The higher your rank, the better the contents of the chest.
So arm your trap and cheese and continue to hunt. Whenever you run out of marble cheese, buy more. Eventually you will gain enough points to become an Apprentice. Once you have become an Apprentice you can continue to the Windmill. Once again click the 'Travel' button and you should see 3 locations under the tab, Gnawnia. Click the Windmill and click 'Hunt Here'.
